MARO RAZI

M. Razi was born in Athens. She studied the quitter at the National Conservatory under the supervision of E. Assimakopoulos. She was awarded a soloist diploma in 1979 , with first prize ,and the honour of Special distinction of Excellence. She then attended courses at the 'Ecole normale de musique de Paris' under the supervision of Alberto Ponce.

She has performed in France, Spain, Cyprus, Germany and Athens as well as all over Greece. She has also recorded for the Radio and has appeared on TV.

M.Razi's and E.Boudounis' collaboration started in 1988 with the creation of a quitar duet and they have been working together ever since. As a duet they have appeared in many important Greek and international festivals (Moreos, loannina, Patra, Nafpaktos, Iraklion, Istabul, Koln) and have performed as soloist with many orchestras and chamber ensembles (The Camerata Orchestra, The Radio Symphony Orchestra, The Soloists of Patra, The Greek String Quartet, The Symphony Orchestra of Istanbul).


M. Razi and E. Boudounis have recorded together 5 compact discs. The first one which was released by "SEIRIOS" includes works of Sor, Granados, Piazzola and De Falla. The second one, released by "LYRA" was titled "LET IT BEATLES" and includes the suite of the same title, composed by E. Boudounis which is an arrangement of most of the famous songs of the unforgettable band.

M. Razi currently teaches guitar lessons in Razis' Conservatoire as well as in National Conservatoire.
